S-E Tournament Finals
Sherburne-Earlville 1, McGraw 0
SHERBURNE – Sherburne-Earlville staved off McGraw’s second-half push to win the S-E Tournament Championship game Saturday night.
S-E put the only goal on the board with 8:57 left in the first half when Briana Vibbard sent a through pass to Bridget Irwin, who found the net on a shot to the lower right corner.
“This is a great momentum builder to start the season,” said S-E coach Kylie Davis. “We did everything well that we have been working on in practice.”
The Marauders advanced to the finals blanking Hamilton, 4-0, on Friday night.
Vibbard, who missed most of last season with an injury, had a hat trick, and Caitlynn Adams, who played the first half in goal, came out to score her first goal after a cornerkick from Jordan Van Althuis.
