UV wins 2nd straight Pony League game

NEW BERLIN Unadilla Valley scored all of its runs in the fifth inning to improve to 2-0 in Otsenango Pony League play on Thursday.



Brett Smith tossed a one-hit shutout for the winners striking out seven and walking just two. He gave up a lone infield single to CV-Ss Justin Monahan in the third, and the UV defense did not commit an error.

Dakota Kolvik had a two-run single in the fifth and was the lone UV player with two hits. Chris Emerson and Josh Rutherford added RBI singles as UV had four of its six basehits in the inning. UV (2-0) plays Milford on Tuesday.
