Morris 11, G-MU 4

COPES CORNERS – G-MU dropped its first Tri-Valley League division game in seven outings on Tuesday, but still maintains a one-game lead over Morris with three games to play in the regular season.

Josh Myers hit a two-run double in the opening inning for the Mustangs, who never trailed in the game. “We didn’t come out with the intensity we needed today,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “Justin Utter (Morris’ pitcher) did a nice job and kept us off balance.”

Justin Utter, Myers, and Joe Utter all finished with two hits apiece for the Morris. The Mustangs also played error-free ball, while the Raiders (6-1, 9-2) committed eight errors.

Andrew Delmar had a two-run single in the fifth for G-MU, and Corin Todd hit a solo homer in the sixth.

G-MU hosts Worcester on Thursday.

Otselic Valley 20, Cincinnatus 3

SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley piled up the runs in the middle innings, and got a complete-game win from pitcher Trevor Marston in Tuesday’s win over Cincinnatus.

Chase Marston led the Vikings with three RBI, while Mike Larkin and Karl Graham drove in two runs apiece. “Mostly, their pitchers had trouble finding the strike zone, and we were frequently able to put the ball in play,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “It felt good to get some hits with guys in scoring position.”

Brandon Coye, Cameron Mikula, and Chase Marston all had 2-for-5 days at the plate for the Vikes, who play at DeRuyter today.

Walton 11, Greene 6

WALTON – Bryant Mead’s two-run single highlighted Walton’s five-run sixth as the Warriors dealt the Trojans their seventh straight loss on Tuesday.

“Walton is a very good hitting team, and we played a really clean game in the field,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “Jeff (Carlin) pitched well into the sixth and had them off balance...we just didn’t get the breaks we needed.”

Mead led the Walton attack with three hits.

Brendan Kinne and Brian Day had two RBI apiece for the Trojans, while Scott Gorton and Matt Jones had two hits for Greene, who host Hancock today.
