S-E set to “Remember Mama”

SHERBURNE – The Sherburne Earlville High School drama club is in their final stages of rehearsal for John Van Druten’s “I Remember Mama.”

Based on the fictionalized memoir “Mama’s Bank Account” by Kathryn Forbes, it focuses on the Hanson family, a loving family of Norwegian immigrants living on Steiner Street in San Francisco in the 1910s. It also became a feature film in 1948 starring Irene Dunne as Mama and Barbara Bel Geddes as Katrin.

The story is told as a flashback by oldest daughter, Katrin (Haley Muth) who is now a published author. She recounts the trials and tribulations of growing up in her family which includes Mama (Emilee Smith), Papa (Eric Muth), her brother Nels (Brent Guiles), sisters Christine (Geana Giglio) and Dagmar (Catherine Behret), aunts Jenny (Margaret Dushko), Sigrid (Zoe Enscoe), and Trina (Lulu Riley), cousin Arne (Craig Natoli) and uncle Chris (Jeff Taylor).
