B-G 3, Sidney 2
SIDNEY – Bainbridge-Guilford coach George Williams said his team came to Sidney just looking for a league victory. Snapping the Warriors’ 74-match Midstate Athletic Conference winning streak was a bonus.
“As I looked it, just winning at Sidney was a big thing,” Williams said. “We haven’t won at Sidney in what seems like forever.”
The balance of the match hinged on the third singles matchup between the Bobcats’ Luke Winn and Sidney’s Rob McLean. After splitting the first two sets, McLean battled back from a 2-0 deficit to lead 5-4. The Warriors’ netter was two points from defeating Winn in the 10th game, who rallied to take the game and eventually win the match for his team.
