Sherburne's St. Patrick's parade steps off Sunday

SHERBURNE – Congressman Michael Arcuri is expected to join about 45 groups set to march in Sherburne’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday.

The parade features four bagpipe and two Irish dance organizations, along with numerous green, white and orange floats and displays, all led by local businessman and community supporter Shawn Kelly as grand marshal.

Event organizer Theresa Mastro said she learned this week that the U.S. Congressman planned to appear.

The action is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the corner of West State Street and North Main Street in the village. Marchers and floats will proceed north to the former cotton mill parking lot. Last-minute groups are welcome to join in the festivities by calling Mastro at 674-4573 or Kathleen O’Connor at 674-9744.
