Dolphins’ 8-and-under Girls Win District Championship

NORWICH – The Norwich YMCA Dolphins, hosts of this year’s district championships last weekend, had 26 individual swimmers come away with top-three finishes, and the 8-and-under girls – Maya Blaisure, Andrea Dempsey, Allie Diers, Gabrielle Eddy, Katie Gawronski, Madison Loeffler, Triniti Myers, Melissa Stroh, and Ashton Wenzel – were the regular season and overall district championship winners. Other top-three team finishes came from the 9-10 girls (second place), 13-14 girls (second place), and 15-18 girls (third place). Below are Norwich’s individual swimmers’ finishes. Names are listed alphabetically and includes age division, event, place finish, and time.

Individual Swimmers

Maya Blaisure, 8-and-under girls, 100 IM (2), 1:51.92.

Hannah Collier, 15-18 girls, 100 backstroke (1), 1:15.40.

Aidan Collins, 8-and-under boys, 100 IM (3), 1:53.10.

Catherine Eaton, 15-18 girls, 100 back (3), 1:14.80.

Gabrielle Eddy, 8-and-under girls, 100 free (3), 1:41.09.

Erin Gawronski, 13-14 girls, 500 free (2), 5:57.07.
