Garnet Rogers Opens EOH Arts Café Spring Season
Published: February 5th, 2010

EARLVILLE –  The Earlville Opera House opens its Spring Season with Garnet Rogers performing on Friday at 8 p.m. in the Arts Café.  Melodic and joyful; poetically lonesome; outraged and fierce: Garnet Rogers’ original songs guarantee an evening you won't soon forget. His deep voice will rattle your heart, and his guitar mastery roams from delicate finger-style acoustic to spanking electric hooks.  Garnet Rogers possesses instrumental talent, a smooth baritone with an impressive range, and a powerful stage presence.

Winner of the Helen Verger Award for folk music (2000), Rogers is a veteran performer who has been honing his craft for more than twenty years.  This will be the first concert that Garnet has done at the EOH since the release of his latest album.  Get a Witness, was rated by the Boston Globe as one of the Top Ten Folk CDs of 2007:  "On a long awaited concert album, even his torch songs feel like tours de force, sung in a glorious bass that shimmers with danger and grace..." A “free radical,” Garnet Rogers has produced his CDs on his own label, Snowgoose Songs, with the exception of All That Is – The Songs of Garnet Rogers, which was released by Redhouse Records.
