County to offer more Lifelines for seniors

NORWICH – The Chenango County Area Agency on Aging hopes to purchase more Lifeline devices next year for seniors who are on a waiting list for them.

The units expire and need to be replaced periodically, but about 220 seniors are currently using county-owned units. The agency, tapping into funds from donations and taxpayers, hopes to purchase six more Lifelines next year. The agency was able to purchase and distribute 40 in 2007 and 10 in 2008.
