South Canal Street water main project nears completion

GREENE – The water main project which has caused traffic detours in the vicinity of Greene’s High School and Middle School campus for the last month is expected to be completed within the next two weeks, according to the village’s superintendent of public works.

Since Aug. 17, South Canal Street has been reduced to one lane south of Page Street and its intersection with South Chenango Street Extension has been closed, as the Village of Greene’s highway and water crews have worked to replace the water main along that section.
