NORWICH – The Chenango County Personnel Office has released the official 2010 compensation schedule for all non-union government employees.

The schedule totals nearly $5 million gross, including mid-year salary adjustments, but minus benefits. The total increase over last year is $153,000.

A previously negotiated contract for Civil Service Employees Association increased union workers’ salaries 4.5 percent next year.

Deputy Treasurer Ardean Young said an estimated payroll for all employees in 2010 was too preliminary, as about a dozen department’s budgets are incomplete. Last year’s total payroll was $17,673,000; employee benefits were about $7.4 million.

The following four tiers of percentages on the comp schedule were approved by county supervisors on Monday:

• Employees earning $17,439 through $30,147 will receive 5 percent
