ONEONTA – Oxford’s Otsenango Pony League postseason tournament run was halted in the semifinals by an unbeaten Oneonta U14 squad Saturday afternoon at Neawha Park.
Oneonta jumped out to a double-digit lead, and pounded out 15 hits in a 19-11 victory.
“Oneonta is a very young team, but you wouldn’t have guess by the way they played,” said Oxford coach Jim Champlin, whose team finished the season with a 10-2 record. “They have a very polished bunch of baseball players.”
