GREENE – More than 10,000 visitors are expected for this weekend’s 33rd Annual Arts & Craft Festival in downtown Greene. The event, sponsored annually by the Greater Greene Chamber of Commerce (GGCC), will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and is free and open to the public.

According to GGCC Co-Executive Director Deb Eggleston, this year’s festival will include more than 150 vendors from all corners of New York and Pennsylvania offering a wide variety of hand-crafted items. Everything from pottery, stained glass, folk art and handmade soaps to candles, needlework, jewelry and clothing will be available, the chamber executive said.

The event is a tradition for many, Eggleston reported, including not just local residents but also visitors from outside of the area.

Vendors begin setting up early Saturday morning along the length of Genesee Street from Franklin street to Memorial Park. They are helped in their efforts by the crew of more than 20 volunteers which have signed up to help with the event.
