AFTON – The 120th Afton Fair will take place from Wednesday, July 8 through Sunday, July 12. Our reduced admission is $3 for age 12 and over and free for age 11 and under. All grandstand and 88 BC/Afton Sertoma Stage Entertainment is free with paid gate admission. There will be a wide variety of animal displays and contests as well as entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.
The Midway and vendors will open at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There will be wristband specials for the young and young at heart every day. There will be $15 wristband specials on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and at 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. New this year is a Saturday Super Saver Special. This $20 wristband is good on Saturday only from 1 to 10 p.m. The midway is provided by Main Events Amusements.
The entertainment line up at the 88 BC/Afton Sertoma Stage is diverse and everyone is sure to find something they like. Skyline with Cassidy Lynn is back from Nashville for the summer and will perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Panhandle, a country band from Oxford with a recently released CD will perform on Wednesday night. There will be fireworks at 10 p.m. both nights. On Friday night at 7:30, local band Familiar Noise will return to the Afton Fair and will perform music from their CD, “Simpler Times” released in 2008 as well as music from a CD they are currently working on. There will be an accompanying live remote by WKGB FM from 7 to 9 p.m. The Southerntiersmen Barbershop Chorus and Quartets will perform on Saturday afternoon at 4. The Southerntiersmen are the award winning Binghamton Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, the largest all male singing fraternity in the world. Other musical performances include the Binghamton High School Steel Drum Band, The Old Time Band, Deuces Wild, Route 66 as well as dance performances by The Blue Ribbon Cloggers and Line Dancing with Mindy.
