Sherburne’s Harry Conley to retire from public office

SHERBURNE – Longtime politician Harry W. Conley has announced that he will not run for Town of Sherburne Supervisor in November. He is currently completing his seventh, two-year term.

The supervisor said he wanted to resign from public office two years ago, but was talked out of it. “I had second thoughts. It didn’t feel quite right to do yet,” he said of his decision then.

This time around, Conley’s age is determining his decision. “I just turned 80, and I think anybody should retire at 80,” he said.
