Chenango Memorial honors volunteers’ generosity, patient care

NORWICH – Chenango Public Transit plays a very important role in patient care at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, and probably didn’t even know it.

Three days a week, hospital volunteer Edith Giglio of Sherburne takes the bus to and from her job in Norwich because she doesn’t like to drive.

And some job she does. Giglio was honored Wednesday at the Canasawacta Country Club for her “can do attitude” and the “generosity and gentleness” that she has displayed while donating 1,000 hours of service over three years to CMH and its patients. Members of the Auxiliary to Chenango Memorial Hospital, management and fellow volunteers gave her a standing ovation at an awards luncheon following the presentation of a special recognition plaque given by Kathleen Moore, chief of staff for New York State Assemblyman Clifford Crouch.
