Jake Earl hit a pinch-hit double in his team’s final at-bat for the only run needed in the game. Chet Davis added an RBI single during the three-run sixth.

“Both teams got good, solid pitching tonight, and I think the hitting for both teams is behind the pitching at this point,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.

Unatego starter Tyler Newman struck out 10 in five scoreless innings, while Oxford starter P.J. Hubman logged five scoreless innings giving up just one hit. “We didn’t have a hard-hit ball all game, and we just weren’t able to get a timely hit in the game,” Palmer said.

Oxford is at Delhi today.
