Out of the Woodwork Players present “Fiddler on the Roof”

BAINBRIDGE - The Out of the Woodwork Players continue the celebration of their 20th anniversary performance season March 20, 21 and 22 with the Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock musical “Fiddler on the Roof.” Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday in the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre on North Main St. Tickets are available from Cooley’s Jeweler’s in Sidney, by contacting owptheatre@ yahoo.com or at the door.

Adapted from Sholem Aleichem’s book “Tevya’s Daughters” by Joseph Stein, “Fiddler” follows the life of Tevye (Andy Doyle), a poor dairyman living in czarist Russia with his wife Golde,( Teresa Sears) their five daughters, fellow friends and neighbors of “Anatevka.”

“Tradition” is challenged when oldest daughter Tzeitel (Larissa Szigeti) rejects the proposal arranged by the ”matchmaker” Yente (Dorothy Rudolph) for that of a poor tailor, Motel (Nolan VanFleet). Sisters Hodel (Theresa Olin) and Chava (Bethenie Pinney) follow suit for love, ultimately leaving with their respective partners, Perchik (Quinn Dorsey) and Fyedka (Nate Sloan)
