Norwich falters late against Windsor

Windsor 65, Norwich 63

NORWICH – Windsor progressed from feisty opponent, to a thorn in Norwich’s side, and eventually conqueror of the Tornado.

Tim Costello rolled in two foul shots with 4.2 seconds left to break a 63-63 tie, and Norwich junior Josh Borfitz’s 30-foot look at a game-winning shot was a tad long in Tuesday’s STAC matchup.

The Black Knights held Norwich without a point the final three minutes, handed Norwich’s its first league loss, and kept the purple and white at nine wins and holding.

“We couldn’t make the plays to put them away,” said Norwich coach Mark Abbott. “We had a couple of opportunities from the field, the foul line, we grabbed some offensive rebounds...Windsor hung in there and made plays to win the game.”
