NORWICH – NBT Bancorp Inc. (NBT) (NASDAQ: NBTB) reported today net income per diluted share for the three months ended Sept. 30 of $0.46 per share, which is the same per share earnings as the third quarter last year. Similarly, net income for the three months ended September 30, 2008 was $15.1 million, the same as net income for the third quarter last year. Return on average assets and return on average equity were 1.13% and 14.58%, respectively, for the three months ended September 30, 2008, compared with 1.17% and 15.41%, respectively, for the three months ended Sept. 30, 2007.
