Oxford’s 4-game winning streak snapped

Moravia 2, Oxford 1 (OT)

MORAVIA – Oxford saw its four-game winning streak snapped Thursday afternoon in a non-division game at Moravia.

Although thoroughly outshot, Moravia managed to rally from a 1-0 halftime deficit. Hannah Mackey scored five minutes into the second half to tie the game, and Lizzy Winters scored on a breakaway with three minutes left in sudden-victory overtime.

“I would say of all our games, this game we had the most opportunities to score – especially the second half,” said Oxford coach Melissa Chrystie. “It’s one of the few times we’ve outshot the team. We tried, but couldn’t get one in.”
