4-H Week kicks off Sunday

CHENANGO COUNTY – All of Chenango County’s 22 4-H clubs are looking forward to next week. Local club members, along with their counterparts in communities across the country, will be celebrating National 4-H Week from Oct. 5-11.

The week-long celebration kicks off Sunday with Chenango County’s 4-H Achievement Day. Both county and national awards will be presented during the annual event which will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the United Church of Christ in Norwich.

“4-H members and clubs will be recognized for their achievements throughout the year, their completion of another project record year, and top clubs and members will be awarded,” said Jessica Jaramillo, Cornell Cooperative Extension’s communications coordinator.

The awards presentation will be followed by a pot-luck dinner. Those who would like to participate are asked to bring a dish to pass.

Local clubs will also be participating in the Chenango County 4-H Window Display Contest. This year’s theme is “Choose Health, the 4-H way.”
