HAMILTON – Hamilton controlled play and went on to defeat the Marauders for the first time in at least 15 years, said S-E coach Sheila Cooman.

“Take nothing away from them, they played extremely well,” Cooman said of the Emerald Knights. “We had no intensity to start the game, and we didn’t generate any offense.”

Katie Baker scored the only goal of the first half at 15:53 following an S-E defensive miscue. Brooke Furner scored unassisted in the second half.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Seven Otselic Valley players scored goals in a rout of George Jr. Republic Monday.



Nate Stark was the lone Vikings player with two goals, and Jake DeRochie had two assists. “We were able to outplay them from the start, and they’re a young team without a lot of soccer experience,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “The reserves got to play a lot and put the ball in the goal.”

OV hosts Brookfield Wednesday.

Cooperstown 5, S-E 0

COOPERSTOWN – Cooperstown kept consistent pressure on the S-E defense putting up 33 shots on goal in a home victory over the Marauders Monday.

Four different Redskins scored goals, who built a 2-0 halftime lead on the strength of Kyle Liner and Jack Chase goals. Chase added second tally in the second half.

“Cooperstown is picked as one of the teams to win our division, and I thought our four defenders did well,” said S-E coach Mike Rodriguez. “We just were not able to generate anything out of the midfield.”
