Oxford 4, Deposit 3
OXFORD – Oxford regrouped after back-to-back tournament losses over the weekend, but not before regathering itself in an overtime victory over Deposit Monday.
Following a missed penalty stroke that would have won the game a few minutes earlier in overtime, Amanda Marks reverse-sticked a deflection after a Marlena Frank drive to win the game with just over 1:30 left.
Oxford jumped on Deposit early scoring three goals in the first half to lead by two goals. Lacey Barry, Frank, and Daisy Murphy accounted for the early advantage. “I’m disappointed we let them back into the game, but I was proud of the way we fought back and won,” said Oxford coach Melissa Chrystie, whose club evened its record at 2-2. “We’ve had trouble generating offense, so it was good to come out in the first half and put shots on goal.”
Oxford hosts Sidney Wednesday.

G-MU 2, Morris 1
COPES CORNERS – G-MU won its first game in two seasons coming from behind to defeat Morris Monday.
Kirsten Gonzalez fed Niki Maraglio for the tying goal with just one minute left in the first half.
Seven minutes into the second half, Miranda Hill netted the winning goal off a Chelsea Fitch pass. “After the game, the girls were screaming – I was screaming,” said G-MU coach Kristen Bradbury. “We’ve had trouble keeping the ball in the other team’s end. We put more pressure on (Morris) than we did in our first three games, and we were more offensive-minded.”
