Norwich Middle School Meet and Greet gave students sneak peek

NORWICH – New and returning students had the chance to see the results of the Norwich Middle School’s multi-million dollar renovation between noon and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Many sixth, seventh and eighth grade students took the opportunity to walk through their schedules, meet teachers and even start loading up their lockers.

The students, as well as accompanying family members, skirted boxes and furniture in the building’s hallways as they explored the facility with maps in hand.

Despite the debris waiting to be either unpacked or removed, energy and enthusiasm in the building was high. The building’s newly-tenured principal, Lisa Schuchman, said she was impressed by her staff’s hard work in getting the Middle School ready for students and in their levels of energy and enthusiasm.

“It’s great to see everyone coming together like a family,” she said.

The afternoon was a busy one for Schuchman and her staff as they greeted guests, assured nervous parents and students, gave directions and explained schedules.
