Police want to alert residents to recent break-ins

NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department is currently investigating two burglaries in the city and wants to alert residents in the area.

On Sunday, police responded to a burglary that took place on Fair Street and then again on Monday to another break-in on Locust Street.

“What makes this particularly notorious is the fact these crimes took place in someone’s home,” said Police Chief Joseph Angelino.

Police said no one was home during either break-in and that thieves disturbed a number of items in the homes, indicating they spent a length of time searching through them.

Police would not elaborate on how the homes were broken into, but said some force was used. Some of the property stolen included cash, a flat screen TV and tobacco products.
