Sherburne man charged in stabbing

A Sherburne man is in the Chenango County Correctional Facility today after being arrested for allegedly stabbing a family member over the weekend.

Fitim Latifi, 25, has been charged with first degree assault, a felony, and third degree possession of a weapon. Norwich City Police reportedly responded to the scene, where they found a family member with a stab wound to the leg.

Latifi was arraigned in Norwich City Court and is currently in jail on $25,000 bail. More details will appear in Monday’s Evening Sun.
