Cortland County man sentenced on DWI charge

NORWICH – Donald Mackenzie of Willet, Cortland County, was given a split sentence of five years probation and six months incarceration for a driving while intoxicated (DWI) charge.

Mackenzie was indicted by the grand jury following an incident that occurred in Smithville on March 29 where he was found to be driving while intoxicated. It was shown by chemical analysis that Mackenzie was driving with .15 percent alcohol in his blood. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.



Mackenzie’s current charge was upgraded to a class D felony because he has a prior offense for DWI in Chenango County.
