Man charged in infantís death seeks to withdraw guilty plea

NORWICH ĖA man charged with manslaughter in the death of an infant in Pitcher was back in court last week to withdraw his guilty plea and get new counsel.



Jason Allen Sherman, 5223 Piety Hill Rd., Pitcher, is being held in the Wyoming Correctional Facility without bail on separate charges.

In Chenango County, the defendant faces charges of first degree manslaughter and second degree assault, both felonies in connection with the death of 16-month-old Marshall Lee Barber Jr., Pitcher, the son of his-live-in girlfiend.

After an investigation, the case was ruled a homicide. Sherman was arrested and indicted.
