NORWICH – While for some school is ending, Chenango County Public Health, in conjunction with Norwich Rotary and P&C, would like to remind families of the importance of immunizations prior to a child’s first year at school.

The annual Shots for Tots event will be taking place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday at P&C Food and Pharmacy. Parents should bring their child’s shot records to the event in order for the child to be vaccinated.

All vaccines suggested for children between the ages of four and six will be available to the public free of charge. These vaccines include: DTaP, IPV, MMR, Varicella and Influenza, all of which are recommended for children prior to the start of their first year of school. PPV, Hepatitis A and McV4 will also be available to those children in high risk groups.
