VESTAL – Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton moved four athletes on to the New York State Track and Field Championships at Thursday's Section IV State Qualifier held at Vestal.
Melissa Reigles improved her personal best in the shot put by over 11 inches throwing it 37-3 1/2 to not only win the Division II title, but the outright section championship. Dustin Ross, coming in as the number one seed in the 400 meters, held off a late challenge from a Cherry Valley-Springfield sprinter to win in 49.45. "Melissa Reigles is the story of the meet for us," said Bears coach Robb Munro. "Coming off an injury and with the training (lack of) he has had, I can't believe the time he ran."
