Otselic Valley 3, Madison 2
SOUTH OTSELIC – Otselic Valley stretched its winning streak to 10 games with its third – and most difficult – win over Madison this season.
An infield grounder by Chase Marsten was booted by Madison allowing OV to score the winning runs in Thursday’s matchup. “Baseball is a crazy game and you don’t know from one day to the next,” said OV coach Dave Loomis. “We have been hitting it well, and tonight we hit it okay, but they made some good plays at times, and we left guys on base. It was one of those days things didn’t come easy.”
OV (12-3) plays a non-league game at Hamilton today.

COPES CORNERS – Coming off a non-league loss to DeRuyter the day before, G-MU rebounded with a win over Delaware County League division champion South Kortright on Thursday.
In the decisive sixth inning, Luke Acanfora had an RBI, and Tyler Fuller stepped up to deliver a pinch-hit two-run single.
“I was worried coming off a tough road loss, and especially because this was our fourth game in a row,” said G-MU coach Jim Johnson. “I thought we bounced back well against a pretty good team.”
Andrew Delmar had two doubles for G-MU (10-5) and one RBI. The Raiders play at Hancock today.

GREENE – Greene scored in every inning but its final at-bat, and won for the third time this season.
Justin Van Wert had two doubles, three hits overall, three RBI, and three runs scored for the Trojans (3-13). Dave Fors scored three runs, and Dan Carlin drove in two runs. “The kids did a nice job tonight of situational hitting,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “We hit the ball hard and forced them into errors. They were tough plays and we took advantage of their mistakes.”
Scott Gorton pitched six innings for his second win, striking out seven, giving up five hits, and allowing just one earned run.
Greg Dicks stroked a two-run single in the sixth for B-G.
