SHERBURNE – Oneonta and Sidney claimed the boys and girls team titles at the Sherburne-Earlville Invitational Friday afternoon, and Norwich picked up an outstanding male track performer award to highlight local competitors.
Tornado junior Steven Spittler was a unanimous selection among coaches as the top male track performer. Spittler swept the 1600-meter (4:44) and 3200-meter (10:38.4) races. Among the four Chenango County teams competing, Spittler’s victories were the lone top spots.
On the girls’ side, Norwich sophomore Katie Benenati remained unbeaten in the 100 meters winning in 13.3 seconds.
