Marauders capitalize on SV mistakes

Sherburne-Earlville 7, Sauquoit Valley 5

SHERBURNE – All of the Marauders’ offense came early on, and they survived SV’s rally later in the game to win at home Wednesday.

Kate Fitzpatrick and Sam Crandall had ribbies in a three-run first, and Felicia Jones plated a run on a fielder’s choice for the lone ribbies. The rest of the runs came from aggressive baserunning and Sauquoit mistakes. “A league win is a league win,” summed up S-E coach Scott Fitzpatrick. “Their errors came at the right time for us to capitalize.”

Fitzpatrick had two hits for S-E (5-1, 10-2) and Lindsay Hodges scattered six hits to earn the win.
