Oxford 8, Harpursville 7 (10 innings)
Oxford 15, Sidney 5
OXFORD – Oxford won back-to-back contests this weekend, the latter a 10-inning victory over Harpursville Saturday.
Nick Gates drew a walk in the tenth inning, and came around for the game-winner after a wild pitch. Robert Amor led Oxford with four hits, Alex Champlin had two hits and two ribbies, while Jared Hueth picked up two hits.
The Blackhawks never trailed against Sidney, and finished with an error-free contest for the first time this season. Gates had three hits and three runs scored, Josh Jordan also had three hits and two RBI, while Amor and Champlin picked up two hits apiece.
Nate Sortino pitched six innings giving up three runs for the victory. “We hit it pretty well (against Sidney) and I think their pitching staff was a little depleted,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “I was pretty happy the way we bounced back after the loss to Deposit. It was probably our best game of the year.”

Oneonta 5, Norwich 3
ONEONTA – Oneonta’s five-run third inning was enough to thwart another Norwich comeback effort in Friday’s matchup.
Larry Jankowski had an RBI single, Jeff Willsie followed with an RBI double, and Andy Dickinson’s RBI made it 5-0.
Norwich, which had two come-from-behind wins earlier in the week, scored three runs in the fifth. Tyler Saroka singled home Christian Hotaling, and Mackay Hotaling followed with a two-run homer. “Early on we had difficulty with their pitcher, but after seeing a pitcher the first time through the lineup, we do a better job,” said Norwich coach John Martinson. “Oneonta is a great defensive club, and they were on fire in the third inning. I was proud of the way we fought back,”
Norwich’s Josh Borfitz was sterling in relief tossing 3 1-3 innings giving up no runs and one hit.
