Breanne White had two hits, three RBI, and three runs scored, and Hannah Johnson went 2-for-3. “We talked a lot last night (after the loss) that this is what we needed to do – to turn things around,” said UV coach Eileen Lawyer. “They were aggressive on the base paths and hit the ball well.”

G-MU 16, Franklin 14
COPES CORNERS – G-MU stormed past Franklin with a five-run sixth inning to even its record on the season with a second win in as many days.
Katie Bakhuizen hit a go-ahead two-run triple for the Raiders in the sixth to finish 3-for-4 with four RBI. Ashlea Osborne added three hits for G-MU, who pounded out a season-high 18 hits.
The Raiders trailed early giving up back-to-back five-run innings to the Purple Devils in the first and second innings. Katie Barnhardt led the losers’ attack with three RBI.
“I guess you would call it beginning-of-the-game jitters,” said GMU coach Tina Cole. “Franklin game out and hit the ball hard, and I don’t think we were ready for it. Marissa (Finch) settled down on the mound, and the girls started to make better plays behind her.”

Norwich 9, Seton Catholic Central 8
NORWICH – Norwich won for the third time this season to surpass last year’s win total, and is doing things on the field that it has not done in several years.
“We have not been a comeback team, but we talked about keeping our lids on our hat up and playing the entire game,” said Norwich coach John Martinson.
The Tornado made it all the way back from a 6-0 deficit scoring four in the last of the sixth to eke out its second STAC win. Tim Clark hit a two-run double to score Paddy Law and Brock Kossman, and Josh Borfitz drove in Mackay Hotaling with the tying run. Clark scored the game-winner on a wild pitch, and then came on to pitch a one-two-three seventh for the save.
Christian Hotaling hurled six innings for the win scattering eight hits. “Their bats were pretty hot early and we made too many errors,” Martinson said. “We took more pitches, got some runners on base, and were able to claw back.”
Clark was 2-for-4, Borfitz had two hits and three RBI, and Hotaling had two hits including an RBI double in the fourth.
