Local teachers serve up the fries Tuesday

NORWICH – Middle school teachers as well as the principal will be flipping burgers, salting the fries and waiting on customers from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday as part of a new way to raise funds for school programming.

McDonald's calls it “McTeacher's Night,” a fund-raiser set up by the fast food chain that gives a percentage of the profits for teachers who volunteer three hours behind the counter.

Sponsored locally by the Parent-Teacher-Student-Association (PTSA), the proceeds raised will go to special events or programs offered to students throughout the upcoming school year. Throughout the three hours, 20 percentage of the sales will be given to the school organization.
