Chenango County fugitive arrested in Montana

CHENANGO COUNTY – A Bainbridge man who had jumped bail after pleading not guilty to charges of possessing child pornography was arrested Sunday in Missoula County, Montana.

Mark Cunningham, 45, was arrested March 15, 2007 for an incident that allegedly took place on May 21, 2006. He was originally charged with disseminating indecent material to a minor in the first degree, a D-felony, and possessing a sexual performance by a child, an E-felony.

Cunningham was charged with possessing child pornography on his home computer. According to court reports, he allegedly got involved in an online chat with an individual who threatened to blackmail him for $500. Cunningham contacted police and handed over his computer in response to the threat. He was arrested soon after because police said they discovered images of underage children on his hard drive.
