Four local wrestlers place at New York State tournament

ROCHESTER – Three Chenango County wrestlers reached the New York State Wrestling Championships semifinals, and Greene’s Tyler Beckwith finished in the runner-up position in the Division II 171-pound division to lead the area contingent Sunday night at Roche

The fireworks began in the final minute of Beckwith’s matchup with Cody Hutcheson of Section IV when Hutcheson picked up two takedowns, the last with under 20 seconds remaining to earn a 4-3 decision. It was a one-step improvement for Beckwith, who was third a year ago as a freshman.
