Chenango goes for McCain, Clinton

CHENANGO COUNTY – John McCain and Hillary Clinton were Chenango County’s victors in Super Tuesday’s presidential primaries. A sampling of exit polls conducted at four sites reflected the outcome.

Retired school teacher Marge Gollnitz of Norwich said she voted for McCain because of the Arizona senator’s experience and military service. “I think he’s one of the most experienced and has been a part of the political system for a long time. ... He was also a veteran and that is also very important,” Gollnitz said.

After voting at the Sherburne Town Hall, Bonnie Bays Blanchard of State Rte. 80 said she selected New York Sen. Hillary Clinton. “She will do a wonderful job. Whether we like it or not, she knows what’s the job’s all about,” she said.

There is some fuzzy math here. It Looks like 3504 republican votes and 2526 democratic votes.... maybe just a misprint I'm pretty sure that mean more republicans voted than democrats.
