Trojans remain unbeaten in MAC

Girls’ Basketball

Greene 61, Delhi 28

GREENE – Greene overcame a shaky first quarter cooling off the visiting Bulldogs with a strong defensive performance the final three quarters to remain unbeaten in MAC play.

“They were pressing us early and we turned it over more than we usually do,” said Trojans coach Bill Case, whose club regrouped late in the first quarter to take a 16-11 lead. “We pulled more people up court, shortened our passes, and did a whole lot better against the press.”

Greene (5-0, 12-2) extended its lead to 10 points at halftime, and all five starters scored in the third turning the game into a rout. “I felt it was a hard-fought game most of the way, then all of a sudden we were up 30 points,” Case said.
