Unadilla Valley 57, Greene 23
NEW BERLIN – Unadilla Valley head coach Matt Osborne was as surprised as anyone by the ease of his team’s victory over Greene Wednesday night.
The Storm held the Trojans without a field goal the last 10 minutes of the first half outscoring the Trojans 23-0 during that time span.
Raffi Perry scored 10 of his 11 points by halftime as UV led 31-7. “That was probably the best we’ve shot the ball all season,” said Storm coach Matt Osborne. “And they didn’t shoot the ball well, especially in the second quarter.”
The Trojans worked the ball inside, and were within 8-7 after Alec Grabowski’s basket with just over two minutes left in the first quarter. A defensive switch by Osborne changed the game’s momentum in the second quarter. “We went to a zone, and that seemed to keep their inside and outside game at bay,” Osborne said.
Matt Harrington pitched in with 10 points for UV.
