MUNNSVILLE – Otselic Valley overcame a poor shooting night with strong defense and rebounding to carry its unbeaten record to 11-0 on the season.
Taylor Duell and Robert Guyer had double-doubles for the Vikings. Duell had 13 points and 13 boards, while Guyer scored 10 points and snagged 12 rebounds.
The Vikings pulled away from a tie game in the second quarter scoring the final seven points of the half. A dominant fourth quarter helped OV cruise away for the win. “We defended well and moved the ball well on offense, but we could not get the ball to fall,” said OV coach Dave Loomis, whose club was 20-for-56 (36 percent) from the field. “I think much of the problem with the shooting is that we have been off for a while. Practicing is not the same as playing games.”
OV plays Cincinnatus Saturday at SUNY Morrisville.
