2008 tax rates released

CHENANGO COUNTY - The Chenango County Treasurer and Budget Office this month released 2008 tax rates per $1,000 of assessed valuation. Led by the Town of Norwich with a decrease of 14.8 percent next year, the following municipalities’ taxes will also be less:



Afton, $13.83, down 94 cents, or 6.4 percent.

Coventry, $11.94, down 68 cents, or 5.4 percent.

McDonough, $12.68, down 53 cents, or 4 percent.

Town of Norwich, $19.39, down $3.37, or 14.8 percent.

Wow here's a shocker.. Town of NewBerlin is not on here.. I'm not sure who's runnin the show up there... We are on the list to go up more than likley...

It kinda figures that Guilford would NOT be on that list. We here can look forward to incresed taxes due to mismanagement and the new MEMORIAL TOWN HALL AND HIGHWAY GARAGE EDIFICE.
