BAINBRIDGE – The idle time suited B-G well Friday night.

The Bobcats, who were playing just their third game this month, ended the Storm’s three-game winning streak with their best effort to date. “We haven’t played what I would call good basketball until tonight,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “We were more in the flow offensively and got better shot opportunities.”

Dani Conway scored 20 points in the first half and finished with a season-high 28 points to go with 12 rebounds and four steals. Mariah Schaeffer added 10 in the first half and had 16 points and eight assists.

Conway and Schaeffer had all but four of their team’s first-half points to give B-G a 12-point halftime lead.

Hannah Johnson and Katelyn Ross scored 10 points apiece for UV (3-4).

Chenango Valley 43, Norwich 32

NORWICH – After a strong start, Norwich went cold on the offensive end and CV found its rhythm in Friday night’s matchup.

Brooke Abbott and Michelle Testani hit three balls during a 10-0 Norwich run that put the host club in front by 10 points.

Abbey Harrington scored on a layup and Liz Heller hit a three near the end of the first quarter to spur the Warriors’ comeback.

Norwich went scoreless over a 7:47 stretch into the latter portion of the second quarter, and during that time CV rattled off 13 points in a row to take the lead for good.

“I think we started to relax a little on defense and they caught up,” said Norwich coach Krista Porter. “Once they took the lead, I think we lost our poise and we weren’t executing our offense.”

Stephanie Hoffman scored nine points in the last quarter and was 9-for-9 from the foul line to finish the game with 17 points to lead Chenango Valley.

Testani had 11 points for Norwich and Boyan Cox added 10.
