The Dope Runner, is based on actual events that occurred in Colombia in recent years but are here retold in fictional form to preserve anonymity for security reasons. Pablo, the central character, is the typical young man of his generation, ruthlessly ambitious and determined to get rich quick. Though attaining success and held in high esteem in his native country, he is totally lacking in ethics and ideology and is therefore capable of betraying anyone and of committing the most horrendous crimes to further his interests. This is the story of a battle between Good an Evil in which the perverse ambition of the leading character tips the balance in his favor but causes untold harm to his own people. The tale is told in simple, gripping language, conveying images that become engraved in your memory. Past events recorded here will help the readers to better understand current happenings and the behavior of certain high-profile public figures in the complex world of today.
