Published: November 2nd, 2007

EARLVILLE – The engaging and impressive singer-songwriter, Lisa Bigwood, returns to the Arts Café with her new band The Kitchen Syncopators at 8 p.m. Friday.  They made her a Telluride Troubadour Finalist, Kerrville Newfolk Finalist, Chris Austin Memorial Songwriting winner at The Merle Watson Festival, and took her around the country showcasing her songs. Her music is being played on folk radio from New Haven to Cleveland to Chicago to Salt Lake City to Santa Cruz …fans and folk DJ’s are buzzing about her new band that will be touring this fall for the first time.

The Kitchen Syncopators are a 4-piece band, with a bluegrassy, Americana-style flair. Lisa Bigwood, their lead vocalist, is a nationally known songwriter, whose first two studio CDs were Grammy contenders in 1995 and 1996. Her 3rd CD, with an anticipated release date in late 2007, is already receiving preliminary airplay on folk radio across the country. Lisa began to bring this group of musician friends together this past spring, for some fun and jamming. Fun was definitely had, the chemistry was undeniable, and a band was born. The Syncopators play mostly Lisa’s original songs, but you will hear some of their favorites by other songwriters in the mix, too.
