Daniel Brown to appear in court tomorrow

NORWICH – A man accused of commiting a murder in the City of Norwich is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Daniel L. Brown Sr. will appear at the Chenango County Courthouse before acting Chenango County Court Judge Martin E. Smith of Broome tomorrow at 10:30 a.m.

Brown is being represented by John D. Cameron of the Chenango County Public Defender’s Office and is currently being held in the Chenango County Correctional Facility without bail.

Brown, 45, was arrested in March by the Norwich Police department following a three-day search that ended in the discovery of the body of Tammy L. Periard, who was reported as missing by her mother.

The Chenango County grand jury indicted Brown on two counts of first degree murder, one count of second degree murder, one count of first degree rape, two counts of first degree robbery and one count of first degree assault. Brown is accused of killing Periard, the manager of his Henry Street apartment, where her body was discovered.
