Greene 3, Walton 0

GREENE – Greene organized its passing and was more dominant on the offensive end in the second half scoring all of its goals in a shutout of Walton Wednesday.

April Small, Jessie Bates, and Megan McDermott all had tallies for the Trojans. Liz Wentlent made four saves for the shutout.

“We moved the ball better and had more finesse with our passing in the second half,” said Greene coach Randy Smith. “We put the ball ahead to our faster girls, and got good things out of it.”

Norwich 4, Johnson City 1

NORWICH – Norwich won its opening STAC division game for the first time in several years spreading out its scoring in a romp over Johnson City Wednesday.

Hannah Killean had the lone goal of the first half for the Tornado, and Sarah Bonnell, Celina Furman, and Hannah Runyon added goals before the Wildcats added a meaningless goal in mop-up time.

“Our defense was steady and controlled three-quarters of the game,” said Norwich coach Jeremy Bolton. “It was a good game for us and I hope it boosts our confidence.”

Norwich plays Friday at Owego at 11 a.m.
