Oxford police searching for thieves whole stole 69 bottles of liquor

OXFORD – Police are on the lookout for additional suspects involved in a burglary that resulted in 69 bottles of liquor being taken from a business in the Village of Oxford.

The Oxford Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old-youth in connection with the crime and said more arrests are pending.



Police said burglars attempted to break into the Ye Old Shanty liquor store on Rt. 12 repeatedly, first on Sunday, July 29 at 11:41 p.m., and again later that night, on July 30, at 3:43 and 4:53 a.m. The final attempt gained the suspects entry around 5 a.m. July 30, by breaking in the front door.

Police believe an unknown number of youths broke into the store and stole 69 bottles of liquor, ranging from strong spirits to liqueurs and mixers.
